The River Club offers both seasoned golfers and the “not so professional” golfers the chance to perfect their swing on the driving range. They can also go out onto the 9 hole par 27 Mashie course to practice their short game.

The combination of a driving range and a short course makes it the ideal learning and practice facility where golfers at any level of the game can improve all aspects of their game.

There is an on-site Golf Teaching academy with professional coaches that can advise golfers from beginners right through to better players.

The restaurant and bar offers a variety of meals and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere – the ideal place to brag about that putt which went in from 18 feet, or the “almost” hole in one you shot on the 9th!

R 30.00 – 50 balls (R2 of every bucket sold is donated to charity)
R 50.00 – 100 balls
R 10.00 – golf club hire per club
R35.00 – rental of complete mashie set (Bag / Gap Wedge / Lob Wedge / Putter)

Weekend and Public holiday special
R70 – Breakfast and 50 balls

Members are entitled to a maximum of 300 Practice golf balls per day.

SA Golf Institute

The Southern African Golf Institute is situated at River Club in Observatory, Cape Town. Our coaches are PGA qualified and personally trained by our Golf Director, internationally renowned coach Grant Hepburn. Grant has trained coaches around the world and is vastly experienced at passing on his knowledge in a way that allows coaches to have a thorough understanding of how to help golfers improve quickly and effectively.
